Gordon Duncan

Considered a premier piping innovator and exciting stylist, Gordon Duncan is a major influence on a new generation of pipers. He started learning his art at age eight from his father, and won his share of junior competitions, moving on to capture two Macallan Trophy wins in the Festival Interceltique de Lorient in Brittany, France.

Gordon has played with many trad folk groups, including Wolfstone, Ceolbeg, Capercaillie, and the Tannahill Weavers. He has also been a member of several elite pipe bands, most notably The Vale of Atholl, Scottish Power Pipe Band, and Drambuie Kirkliston. He is also an acclaimed composer and arranger, and his compositions have been performed and recorded by pipe bands and folk groups throughout Europe. Duncan’s own recordings are an amalgam of contemporary piping styles with traditional piobaireachd.
